Today I power walked for more time and with more energy than I have ever walked before. My body hates me right now. I’m kind of proud of myself for walking one trail at the park, hydrating, and walking the second trail right away. I usually walk and meander about taking pictures. Okay, what I USUALLY do is not walk at all and take a nap in the afternoon. So this was quite the triumph! But, since I have started my walking and weight loss journey my usual walk is one trail and some picture taking. I did this after having opened (six am) on Daylight Savings wherein I lost an hour.
Let’s recap this. This woman, who usually has the energy of a manatee, woke up stupidly early, worked a full 8.5 hour day, came home, fed the cat, put on my running shoes, and headed straight to the county park for a power walk in the beautiful, breezy afternoon. I am not the same woman I have been for most of my life. I hope I can keep up the momentum because I really need a change in my life.
I bought myself a camera and am obsessed! It motivates me to walk around, be outside, and stop being idle. Also, I get to take pretty pictures like this one of my mom.
I’ve been doing Weight Watcher’s since 01/25/11. I know the exact date because it was the tuesday after my 35th birthday, and I have been going to meetings every tuesday since then. It’s been an interesting journey so far, but it could be better. I’ve lost 16.2 pounds! Two of the weeks I gained (less than a pound, but still frustrating!), and four weeks I have lost. If I can average 2 pounds per week, I can lose 100 pounds by my 36th birthday! I know that’s a lot to hope for, but I’m a big girl, I should be able to lose consistently, dammit!
I suppose I am doing this blog to track my journey. And to keep myself motivated. And to vent my frustrations.
And there will be frustrations.
But there will also be room for cheese.
